The department is located inside the Facultat de Matemàtiques i Informàtica, in the central
building of the Universitat de Barcelona. It has several connected components:
Component A is a two-storie "modern" building, only one of them above the ground.
There are components on the ground, first and second floors of the main old building.
You can see more detailed maps here
The brown dots are the two main entrances to the campus.
The color green indicates open air.
The Facultat de Matemàtiques i Informàtica (blue dot in the map below) is located
in Plaça Universitat. The subway
lines L1 (red) and L2 (purple) stop here. Also many city buses like 42,
55, 124, 24, etc.
We are also at 5 minutes walking distance from the neuralgic center
of town, PLAÇA CATALUNYA
(large brown dot in the map below) and PASSEIG DE GRÀCIA train station (black star in the map)
There are several ways to arrive to PLAÇA CATALUNYA or PASSEIG DE GRÀCIA:

Runs between the Barcelona Airport and Plaça de Catalunya every
15 minutes.

Everyday from 5:35 am to 1:00 am.
Departures from Plaça de Catalunya:

Rodalies train
There is only one train line (called R2 Nord) from the airport (Terminal 2) to the city. You will find the Airport train station at the bottom of the map (line R2 Nord is in light green). You can access the Airport train station by following the RODALIES signs , walking through a white and red elevated brigde that you'll see as soon as you walk out the terminal (there is only one bridge, and there are signs indicating the train). Trains depart every 30 minutes from 5:42am to 11:38pm. You must get off at PASSEIG DE GRÀCIA, which is the 4th stop. It takes 25 minutes from the Airport to PASSEIG DE GRÀCIA, (Price: 4.60 EUR).
Metro
There are metro stations at the two airport terminals
Take L9 line get off at TORRASSA transfer station,
take L1 line
Taxi
By taxi. From the airport to Pl. Catalunya should take around 20-30 minutes
and expect to pay around 30 EUR, depending on traffic. It is usually a good
idea to ask for a receipt. There will also be an additional surcharge charge
for each bag you're carrying If you arrive to Barcelona by train then you will probably arrive at
either Estació de Sants or Estació de França.
From Sants you can take a local train or a metro to Pl. Catalunya, and
continue as above. From França station you should take a metro to
Pl. Catalunya from the nearby Barceloneta stop or simply walk up La Rambla
to Pl. Catalunya (1.5 kilometres).
The University is located in the center of town. Coming from the north, merge
into highway C33 from A7 towards Barcelona. After a while, follow signs to "Rondes"
and, in particular, to "Ronda Litoral". This is (half of) a belt that
surrounds the city bordering the see. You must take exit 28 ("Glòries - Gran
Via") which will take you into the city. Once you find the first light, you are
already in "Gran Via", the street where the University is. But this
is a one way street (and not your way). So, make a right turn and immediately
a left, to take the parallel street "Diputació". Follow this street
for a good while until you find "Balmes". Make a left there and you
will see the university building on your right at the end of the block.
Fares and timetables are up-to-date (February 2020).
